If you are self catering in Levi then the tourist office can organise a welcome food pack for you, contact them via the tourist office a welcome pack that consists of milk, bread, butter, sugar, juices and cereals for 4 people cost 28 Euros plus 8.50 Euros for delivery, if you are planning on getting a Christmas Tree then order it as the same time and you will only have the one delivery charge. This price is for Christmas 2007. The supermarkets are not like our big supermarkets over here but you can  certainly get everything you need - they are very well stocked.
You can also pre-order food packs if you are staying in Yllas, this can be done either via the tourist board or destination Lapland the latter will also organise a Christmas tree with all the trimmings to be sent to your cabin, however I was quoted 150 Euros which is excessive if you ask me. There is a well stocked supermarket in Yllas called jouninkauppa and if you want alcohol then the nearest Alko shop is in a town called Kolari which is 30 minutes away by car, you can however order your wines/spirits from the Post Office in Yllas. Both these shops tend to close at 6pm, if you are arriving late over Christmas then speak to your tour operator as to what provisions they have for such situations. There is also a very well stocked supermarket in the center of Levi and an alko shop next door in the square.
